Project Description
Cape Hawk 690 is Laurent Giles’ first full collaboration with Hawk Yachts. Laurent Giles were commissioned to supply the naval architecture and hull design for this 48m worldwide cruising yacht. With a rather unorthodox general arrangement the design offers both owner’s and guest’ heightened experiences with the surrounding environment.
A hull was developed specifically to meet the broad operational requirements of the yacht and was tested and refined during a tank testing phase. A full engineering package has been designed with the goal of reducing yard maintenance periods and making near full year vessel operation a real possibility. This was primarily achieved by assessing ease of maintenance, service network, durability & operational cost of all onboard machinery.
