Project Description

The 68m Hawk Ranger is the result of a combined initiative between Laurent Giles and Hawk Yachts and is the second concept in the Hawk Yachts series developed by Laurent Giles.  For this project, Laurent Giles were commissioned to supply the naval architecture and exterior design, ensuring that this concept is not just a collection of renderings, but is a well thought out and feasible project. The hull design has been extensively tank tested at the Solent University test tank, both in calm water to optimise the resistance and in waves to ensure that the design exhibits good seakeeping behaviour.

The Hawk Yachts concepts and design philosophies previously used for the design of the Cape Hawk 690 continue to form the focus of this design, which has been developed to include additional functionality using the extra space available on the vessel. The Hawk Ranger not only features a helipad capable of carrying a H135 helicopter, but also an infinity pool embedded into the helideck with a movable floor, allowing multiple functionality as an open deck space, helipad or pool area. The vessel is also designed to Bureau Veritas Ice Class ID, which includes reinforced hull plating and enhanced machinery scantlings.
