Project Description
Having previously provided naval architecture consultancy to VSY on their earlier 62m yachts, Stella Maris was Laurent Giles’ first full collaboration with VSY. Laurent Giles were commissioned to supply the naval architecture and hull design for this 72m yacht with exterior styling from Espen Oeino, and worked closely with Espen to incorporate his unusual bow cone detail, and other distinctive features of the design. With a cleverly staggered internal deck arrangement the design offers exceptionally good headroom in the aft public spaces and incorporates a fully certified helideck. The high accommodation volume is reflected in a GT of 2114, a figure more readily associated with much larger yachts, despite this the hull has moderate displacement and with the help of a bulbous bow Stella Maris is able to reach her design speed of 17 knots very efficiently.
